Audition Information

Audition Dates: Saturday, March 24 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Sunday, March 25 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Callback Date: Saturday, March 31 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM

Location: Kennedy Recreation Center, 1333 Decoto Road, Union City

Produced in Conjunction with the City Of Union City Department of Leisure Services

 

Tuition: $350; Includes Script, Libretto, Costumes (cast members may be asked to provide some items from their wardrobes), CD of photos, cast party, & show T-Shirts. Tuiition is due upon acceptance of a role and payable at the parent meeting.

 

Parent Meeting: Monday, April 9 at 7:30 pm. Location: San Leandro Arts Education Center, 2200 Bancroft Ave, San Leandro. Additional show t-shirts may be ordered at this time and must be paid for at the time of ordering.

 

Rehearsals: Rehearsals start Monday, June 18 and run Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please notify the Director or Producer if your child is unable to attend a rehearsal. Location is TBD but will be in the Fremont/Union City/Newark area and should be worked out by audition time.

 

Performances: All performances are in the Logan High School "Little" Theater (seats 298) 1800 H Street  Union City. Dates are July 26-29 with two performances Saturday, July 28.

 

Volunteers: We need volunteers to help build sets, work on the backstage crew, put together costumes, supervise cast members and perform a myriad of other tasks. We ask all cast member families to commit to at least 20 hours of volunteer time. All volunteers who will be in contact with the children must be fingerprinted and undergo a background check. Fingerprinting is done at the expense of Union City Leisure Services.

Uncle Henry:
Dorothy's uncle. A Kansas farmer
Hunk/Scarecrow:
Dim-witted. Wants to have a brain
Hickory/Tin Man:
Wants to have a heart, romantic.
Zeke/Cowardly Lion:
A true blue friend but lacks courage
Almira Gulch/Wicked Witch of the West:
Vengeful, nasty, and mean.
Professor Marvel/Wizard:
Rules the Land of Oz by accident. An ordinary man from Kansas
Glinda, the Good Witch of the North:
Beautiful. Everyone loves her
Munchkins:
The wee people of Munchkin Land. They fear the Wicked Witch of the West
Niko:
The head flying monkey
Flying Monkeys:
Minions of the Wicked Witch of the West
Citizens of Oz:
Ozians, citizens of Oz who dress all in green.

Ample opportunities will be provided for all cast members to be featured on stage
